Lauren Taylor joined the 6News team in September 2018.

She comes to the Midwest from WFXR in Roanoke, VA where she was the Weekend Anchor and Reporter. In Virginia, she covered the aftermath of the Charlottesville riots, cities changing statues and schools named after Confederate soldiers, The Mountain Valley Pipeline Project, and opioid addiction plaguing the Southwest region.

Lauren originally grew up in Baltimore County, Maryland and graduated from The University of Alabama with a degree in History and Political Science. Roll Tide!

She got her start in broadcast journalism after interning for Gerry Sandusky at WBAL-TV 11 News in Baltimore.

Previously, she worked for RNN-TV in New York City where she was a Multimedia Journalist for FIOS1 News. Her main responsibility was covering the Long Island region. Lauren was also a Multimedia Journalist for WPMI Local 15 News in Mobile, Alabama and for KXVA/KIDY Fox News in San Angelo, Texas.

As a reporter, Lauren has covered national stories such as the Dauphin Island Regatta disaster and the Blizzard of 2016 that pounded the Northeast. She loves reporting on stories that help people and our local communities.

In her spare time, Lauren enjoys cooking, working out, and spending time with friends and family. She also has an adorable French Bulldog named Louie – he’s the real star! You can usually find both of them hanging out at the farmers market.
