Jackson Mahomes released from jail, charged with aggravated sexual battery

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV/Gray News) - Jackson Mahomes, a social media influencer and younger brother of Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been arrested, KCTV reports.

He was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery and a fourth count of battery.

Jackson Mahomes was booked into the Johnson County Detention Center Wednesday and later released after he appeared virtually for a court appearance and posted the $100,000 bond.

Police confirmed the incident stemmed from an accusation by the owner of an Overland Park restaurant. Jackson Mahomes allegedly assaulted her and also shoved a waiter in separate incidents.

The alleged incident happened on Feb. 25, at Aspens Restaurant and Bar Lounge. Video circulating online shows Jackson Mahomes, 22, kissing the 40-year-old owner of the restaurant.

Court records state Jackson Mahomes allegedly “unlawfully and feloniously touched a person without consent with the intent to arouse or satisfy the sexual desires of the offender or another” and “unlawfully and knowingly caused physical contact with another person in a rude, insulting, or angry manner.”

Jackson Mahomes’ attorney, Brandan Davies, sent a written statement Wednesday that said, “The Court has prohibited the defendant and lawyers from commenting on the matter.”

Davies waived a formal reading of the charges filed against Jackson Mahomes. He also waived a formal reading of bond conditions.

In March, Davies provided KCTV5 with a statement denying the claims against Jackson Mahomes.

“We have provided law enforcement with the tools and evidence they need to evaluate the claims against Jackson,” it read. “Every interaction between people needs to be placed in the proper context. Releasing a short clip of any video does not provide proper context. We have faith in the process and look forward to a swift resolution of the matter.”

According to online court records, bond conditions include no use of illegal drugs or alcohol, no firearms, and no contact with victim or witnesses.

The court also ordered that he not publicly comment on the case and the alleged victim or her business.

Jackson Mahomes is scheduled to appear again in court virtually on May 11.
