OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The start of Friday afternoon’s College World Series game was delayed for more than an hour after COVID-19 protocols were imposed on some North Carolina State players.
North Carolina State and Vanderbilt were scheduled to square off at 1 p.m., but the game was delayed until 2:07 p.m. because of “health and safety protocols,” according to initial NCAA reports.
The announcement came just before game time.
NC State tweeted a statement that said “several players... have been put into COVID-19 protocol and will be unavailable for today’s games.”
